More of an edge-of-your-seat thriller than a straight-up action movie, the sticky situations Harrison Ford gets himself out of - featuring absolutely insane stunts - make this more than a worthy addition to the list.

"The Fugitive" has much in common with 2000's "Erin Brockovich," 2007's "Michael Clayton," and 2019's "Dark Waters." They all tell tales of American corporations covering up underhanded foisting of cancer-causing chemicals on the unsuspecting public.

The fugitive and his pursuer are both given attention by the script, which is careful to develop characters that are intelligent, insightful, and, most of all, entertaining.

It's a film that uses its spectacle to set up its characters, rather than to pay off its stakes.

Call something a "real train wreck" and it's considered a put-down. Not in this fast-track, no-stops chase movie with a massive train-wreck scene that's going to have audiences scrambling for cover.
