[U]nsurprisingly, [Angels & Demons] treads much the same path as its predecessor; it's very long, very melodramatic and very middle-of-the-road.

The even-trashier sequel to The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons is another mirthless Catholic scavenger hunt from director Ron Howard and author Dan Brown.

Just another farfetched potboiler, making less and less sense as it hits increasingly predictable plot twists.

Angels and Demons is far more accessible than Da Vinci Code and far more pacy too. It doesn't want viewers to pause, and reflect.

...the wacky action finale ruins the whole zoning-out experience, plus it pushes the film to a punishing two-and-a-half hours. Damn! Sometimes it seems like they can't even make good crap anymore.
