Critics Consensus: Even though Oscar-bearers Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie, and Robert Duval came aboard for this project, the quality of Gone in 60 Seconds is disappointingly low. The plot line is nonsensical, and even the promised car-chase scenes are boring.

Not just pitched at the petrolheads, but also aimed at the many secret Schumachers among us who still get a buzz from busting the speed limit when no-one's looking.

Fans of Hollywood's action excess have a lot to like here, however more discriminating audiences will likely find it a very middle-of-the-road work.

Would I recommend Gone in 60 Seconds? Sure. But like while you're doing something else...There are some fun scenes. But, there is also a super cringey running gag.

What's missing from Gone in 60 Seconds is anything new. There's a "been there, done that" feeling to the enterprise.
