Usually I’m partial to the “less is more” approach to storytelling, but the details surrounding Heydrich and his assassination are worthy of further exploration. A three or four-part cable mini-series would do the trick.

Even the romantic subplots, which might appear a gratuitous distraction, are less about passion than desperation; when there's no escape plan in place, life is lived in moments.

“Anthropoid” is refreshingly earnest and subtle. It has confidence in the compelling strength of its story and feels no need to embellish it or the characters.

Anthropoid is pulse-pounding action and I wish 2016 had more movies like this.
