The ridiculousness of the dialogue and Patton’s shrieking performance make this a perverse camp classic.

A significant drop in quality. The goofiness of the script and some baffling visuals makes this a strange experience. As a confusing contrast, the portrayal of Freddy is perhaps the darkest in the series.

The queer subtext is arguably the most interesting part of the film, but it's undone by a heteronormative and anticlimactic finale.

The scares are already less effective than before, especially when they're derived from something as goofy as a spontaneous bird combustion or revenge against the gym teacher.
