“The Day the Earth Blew Up” isn’t arguing for the past at the expense of the future, it’s simply trying to put a modern spin on a classic formula in a way that makes you wonder why we ever left it behind.

Its zany energy is a reminder of how much more these tireless characters have to offer.

I feel confident calling The Day the Earth Blew Up not as good as Looney Tunes of yore while still being a fine successor in its own right.
