Although not the most original film in the Disney vault, Planes is nevertheless entertaining, engaging, high-flying fun and adventure that will put your head in the clouds and wind beneath your wings!

With its fun characters and simple story, Planes will entertain young kids and parents. But don't expect rocket science.

Much of the animation looks very ordinary and at times cheap, with the dull scenery another missed opportunity in a film chocked full of them.

Essentially, it's Cars retold with planes. Small, undiscerning kiddies will probably love it and demand the DVD on repeat; adults will be nosediving into their popcorn with boredom.

Disney should cut its losses and release the rest of the trilogy as originally intended.
