When a woman living on the Western frontier believes that the man who saved her life murdered her husband can she find safety within the besieged walls of Fort Dobbs? Fleeing from a lynch mob, accused murderer Gar Davis (Clint Walker--"Cheyenne") trades coats with a man he finds dead beside the road. He tries to find refuge on a local ranch, only to save Celia Gray (Virginia Mayo) from attackers. Davis takes Gary to the local military outpost for safety, but she recognizes Davis' coat as her husband's--and mistaking the arrow hole in its back for a bullet hole, believes Davis murdered her husband. Now, as the fort comes under attack, Davis must both devise a plan to save the people inside and find a way to prove his innocence to Gray.
