Meeropol makes a compelling case for Cohn as “bully,” she doesn’t make a clear case for Cohn as “coward” or “victim”.

As the granddaughter of the Rosenbergs, Meeropol has every reason to hate Cohn. How shocking then that she manages to show so much empathy for the man.

Who would have thought, [Roy] Cohen's life, as existential tragedy.

Meeropol - a granddaughter of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, who were executed for espionage largely because of Cohn's efforts - exposes her subject's lifelong hypocrisy throughout her engaging and infuriating film.

Bully. Coward. Victim. The Story of Roy Cohn isn't the vindictive vendetta that people might assume it is ... but it definitely reveals him to be a self-hating bully who took out his hatred on other people.
