[Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire] is caught between nostalgic fan service and a new-generation family adventure. It tries to be both by having too many characters and too much story, little of it thrilling, parts of it passably entertaining.

Here’s hoping that if we are afflicted with another Ghostbusters film, it gives us something to really be scared of.

Fans will have some fun, but there are too many subplots for this story to thrive as intended. It spreads itself so thin, and the lack of focus is distracting.

I'm at a point where I'm completely apathetic with this franchise.

Frozen Empire will satisfy fans who want to see the gang back, but as a film this is a corporately-minded muddle that may gross at the box office but lacks the heart of its predecessors.
